Here’s another awesome athlete profile of Alex Berrios.  Since Alex has joined Thor Fitness he’s been working super hard side by side with Santiago.  He has made a big transformation and lost a lot of weight while getting stronger and hitting PR after PR.  I’m really proud of him.  Check it out….

Where do you live? 

I live in brentwood. 

What brought you to Thor Fitness?  

A good friend of mine (Santiago) was at Thor Fitness for a while. He kept recommending me to go to a friend’s and family day to try it out. Went twice and loved it but didn’t sign up until a year later.

What were your goals? Have you achieved them?  

My goal was to keep a promise I made to a special person in my life; to work as hard as I can to become healthy and be able to live a long healthy life. In my opinion, I’m overachieving that promise. 

What do you do when you are not at the gym?   

When I’m not at the gym, I’m usually doing something gym related; mobility or stretching. If I’m not at the gym, I’m with with family or friends. 

What crossFit exercise or lifts are your favorite and least favorite? 

My favorite lift? Hm, that’s a hard one!. I love oly lifting in general, but snatches and cleans with all their technicalities really take the number one spot for me. “Grace” is my favorite workout, least favorite are “goblet squats”, who likes those anyway?!

CrossFit has taught me a lot about myself; my limits, my abilities to over come any obstacle if I put my mind to it and most important, what I want to be in life.  Thor Fitness is a community and we all push each other, in return, it drives me to train harder and learn across all of CrossFit’s aspects. In the end, I’ll be able to push my community members more efficiently.

 Holiday hours:

Today 5:30, 6:30, 8:30 and 9:30. If anyone wants to come in and join me I’ll be working out at 7:30. Christmas the gym is closed and Friday hours are 8:30 and 9:30 am only.
